The Beatles, also known as the White Album, is the ninth studio album by English rock group the Beatles, released on 22 November 1968. A double album, its plain white sleeve has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed, and was intended as a direct contrast to the vivid cover artwork of the band's earlier Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Although no singles were issued from The Beatles in Britain and the United States, the songs "Hey Jude" and "Revolution" originated from the same recording sessions and were issued on a single in August 1968. The album's songs range in style from British blues and ska to tracks influenced by Chuck Berry and by Karlheinz Stockhausen..

This is the 1st stereo pressing of The White Album with the numbered top loader stereo stamped gatefold sleeve. However contrary to the information available in thebeatles-collection website the matrix for Side 4 is YEX712-2. All the labels on this copy do NOT have the 'An EMI Recording' which depicts the 2nd or later pressings. As a result I believe this is one of the last 1st pressings released.

This record has been cleaned and test played in full to be graded. Please contact me if you require any further details.

The White Album  vinyl lp. Vinyl is Very Good+. The vinyl is glossy with a few surface marks on all sides. There are 4 to 5 noticeable pops on Side 1 and a few light pops on the other sides. There is a touch light background crackle throughout. A couple of sides could possibly be graded Excellent-(minus) but overall this lp plays Very Good+.

Gatefold Sleeve is Very Good. There are light yellow stains on the rear and the laminate on the spine is starting to peel. There is a bit of fraying at the opening edges and other more minor imperfections.  The inners are half diecut black paper inners which are without spine splits.

No photos or poster with this copy unfortunately.

Summary:- A decent listenable copy with the numbered top loader stereo stamped gatefold sleeve. 

This has been cleaned on a Okki Nokki RCM FREE for the buyer.

Grading system used:-


Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.


Near Mint (NM) The record looks brand new with no scuffing or any deterioration in sound quality and only the smallest hint that its ever been played. The cover and any additional extras are clean, crisp and with no wear whatsoever.


Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.


Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.


Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.


Fair (F) The record is still just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or
defaced.


Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
