Original UK Apple label stereo press double LP.
  The iconic Beatles LP, recorded between May and October 1968 and released in November 1968. The artwork concept was created by Richard Hamilton and Paul McCartney, although he was only paid £200, which at the time he thought was a bit mean! This is the early Seventies issue, just after the numbered editions had been discontinued, with the embossed side opening gatefold sleeve, the fold-out poster, four band pictures & the plain inners. With the YEX-709-1, YEX-710-3, YEX-711-1, YEX-712-1 matrices and lighter green Apple labels of the early 1971 fifth pressing!   The fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse top opening gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX+ condition, with some very light laminate rubbing and some very light corner/edge wear on the cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, and still has the Mono/Stereo index numbers, dropped after this edition.    The plain inners are intact & in EX condition, with some light creasing and the glossy foldout poster is in EX condition with some light creasing/foxing, the four pictures are intact and in EX+ condition.   The records are in visually EX+ condition, sides 1 & 2 have a only a couple of faint hairlines & one or two light bag scuffs and sides 3 & 4 have a few more faint sleeve removal hairlines visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on sides 1 & 2 and a couple of light spindle markings on sides 3 & 4.   The sound reproduction is EX+, clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves. Overall it is a really great, loud & clear listen!   The matrix nos. are;
YEX-709-1 mother stamper 5-ROH, YEX-710-3 mother stamper 2-MT, YEX-711-1 mother stamper 3-AGG, YEX-712-1 mother stamper 4-RPG. This is one of the early pressings of the original 1971 UK stereo fifith issue of this 1968 album!
