1st Pressing GEP 8946
Matrix: 7TCE 888-1 and 7TCE 889-1
Stampers: 3MD and 9MP
Both sides of this disc appear visually near mint and only display a few wispy handling lines when viewed under a bright light. Audio is flawless, with silent run ins, which produce crystal clarity and show the real power of the huge mono sound from these fabulous tracks.
The labels are pristine and have no obvious spindle trails when viewed normally. However, when angled to reflect bright light, there are a couple of very faint lines close to the hole but these are almost undetectable and hardly worth a mention. There is a tiny manufacturing blemish on the side 2 label (visible in the photo), which has always been there and is not damage. As 1st issues, these labels carry the incorrect 'Golden Discs' text.
The 1st issue sleeve, is as close to mint as you are likely to get. The front panel is perfect, with just a mild ring impression and all edges and corners, razor sharp. The back panel is pristine and unmarked, retaining most of its original whiteness. There is a mild crease in the centre of the bottom flipback, where the record has sat but this is only visible in reflected light. It would be very difficult to find a better example.
This is also an opportunity to hear these four incredible No1 singles in their original 'day of release' condition. Not so easy to find on the often, overplayed, individual singles.
All in all, a genuine final upgrade for any Beatles collection.
