I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

**This is the only known copy to surface.**

Collectors know that copies of the Happy Xmas single with green and brown or black vinyl mix are scarce to begin with.  Most copies you’ll see will have the Apple graphics from all pressing plants.

Even scarcer than that is to find a copy on the “Faces” label, with that split.  However; it’s unheard of to find a copy of either label variation with vinyl so dark that you can’t see through it unless you hold it up to the light.  In 50 years of collecting, I have only found one of these “Faces” labels, and two with the Apple graphics in nearly solid green vinyl.

It’s time for another hardcore collector to add this one into their collection.

Vinyl: VG/VG.  Both sides have plenty of small to medium-length light scratches.  Side 1 has more than Side 2 does.  There is a small scratch on Side 1 at the 6 O’Clock position that is feelable with the fingertip, and it may cause a couple of pops on each rotation.  Vinyl has a slight warp that doesn’t affect play.

Plates: Z3/Z4.  Hand-etched Delta symbol (or rifle) in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Winchester.  As this is the only known copy, it’s unknown whether the other plants pressed these.

Labels: NM/NM.  Both labels look 1971-brand new.

Sleeve: VG+.  Both sides have moderate serration outdent and whitewear around the playhole, but NO SPLIT SEAMS.

**Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.**

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
