Description

Terrific Mono original first pressing of this much-sought-after Prestige blowing session featuring excellent altos Phil Woods, Gene Quill, Sahib Shihab, and Hal Stein. LP features deep groove yellow fireworks labels with W 50 Street address and RVG stamped into dead wax. Album cover has W 50 St address.

Vinyl: VG+. Vinyl is glossy with beautiful sheen. Since there are a few scratches, which are cosmetic only and do not affect sound at all, I would rate this a VG+ for visual and VG++/EX for play. No skips, pops, or clicks or clicks. Stunning RVG production shining throughout. Labels are clean and clear, though the word “Jazz” was stamped in red on Side A. See photos for details.

 

Cover: VG+. Cover retains original bright glossy laminate finish on great Reid Miles design, with some foxing that could be cleaned quite easily. Back cover has some smudging, foxing, and faded text, along with a small 1”stain at the very bottom and the word “Jazz” stamped on the upper-right-hand corner. Except for tiny 1” splits on upper right and left corners, seams are tight all around and along spine. See photos for details.

 

LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve.
