Description

 Billy Holiday on Vocalion 4834.  Recorded March 21, 1939.  Why Did I Always Depend On You and You're Too Lovely To Last.  Billie Holiday and Her Orchestra which included Hot Lips Page.  
record is in E+ condition.   Billie was the premiere song stylist of the jazz/ swing era in the 1930s-40s-50s. She recorded under her own name and with bands as varied as Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Paul Whiteman, Count Basie, Teddy Wilson, etc.She set the style for jazz singing- an influence still felt today, and was influenced herself by the great Louis Armstrong Please see photos.
