Here’s a good ‘un for you!
Just how close does a record have to be to Joe Meek to be classifed as an RGM SOUND recording?
Here’s Billy Boyle (a Joe Meek artist) singing “My Baby's Crazy 'bout Elvis” and “Held For Questioning” on Decca F 11503 in 1962.
The A side is written by Geoff Goddard, Joe Meek’s arranger and composer, and the B side is written by Charles Blackwell, another regular Joe Meek collaborator.
The production is by Robert Stigwood who worked as Meek’s right-hand-man before setting out on his own.
So even if Joe Meek didn’t produce this VERY RARE RECORD, then it’s as near as darn-it to an RGM recording!
I rest my case...
The record is in VERY VERY GOOD condition, which I would conservatively rate as VG++ or maybe better. It plays beautifully.
I am not a dealer.
I am just an old bloke selling some of his 45rpm singles because he’s getting too old to get out of the armchair and change the record every two and a half minutes (and he refuses to use an auto-changer!)
I’m selling many of these records FOR LESS THAN THEY COST ME.
