Description
Great 45 by Billy Riley. Songs are: "Red Hot" b/w "Pearly Lee". Original U.S. pressing on Sun Records #277 released in 1957. Condition is very strong VG near VG+ (7-) small wear spot on label on Pearly Lee side, some fine surface marks. Plays great.
Billy Lee Riley is one of the most important founders of the original Rockabilly sound. His band was the first to record what became the Rock n' Roll sound, by adding piano, and sax to the Rockabilly mix of guitar & drums. Riley and his Little Green Men recorded the true ground zero of what we know today as Rock n' Roll, building upon earlier works like Brenston and Turner's "Rocket 88.Riley was highly influential as leader of "The Little Green Men," which were featured on most of the Sun records recorded from 1956-1959. Grading Scale:
10: Mint Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks, beautiful in every way. Very few records will make mint.
9: Mint- Very clean, only a few light marks. A great record.
8: Excellent (VG++) Condition between 7 and 9.
7: VG+ Used, but not abused. Light scratches only. Should play, and look very nice with minimal surface noise.
6: VG Still a nice record. Looks a bit used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays well, some surface noise.
5: VG- A bit rough but will play ok. Fills the collection.
4: G Plays very rough. Has multiple scratches. What a bargain!!
3-2-1: It only goes down from here.
