UK reissue of the posthumous 1997 solo album from the British vocalist and former front man for the Associates. Billy Mackenzie blazed a hugely colorful and influential trail through the '80s Post Punk scene, before largely retreating from the limelight and much later signing to Nude Records (Suede, Geneva) shortly before the release of Beyond the Sun, his second post-Associates album. Billy Mackenzie committed suicide before Beyond the Sun was finished. It was left to Nude Records boss Saul Gaulpern to oversee it's completion, and he commissioned suitably ornate piano, guitar and string section overdubs to add color to Billy's initial recordings. · Seven of Beyond the Sun's 10 tracks were produced by Cocteau Twins man (and later Bella Union boss), Simon Raymonde, with the remainder being produced by Pascal Gabriel.
