This charming mid-century holiday LP features Bing Crosby narrating and singing A Christmas Story: An Axe, An Apple and a Buckskin Jacket, written by Arnold Sundgaard with music by Alec Wilder. Issued by Simon & Schuster, Inc. in collaboration with The Sandpiper Press, this “Golden Masterpiece Recording” was part of a special Christmas series meant to accompany a picture book of the same story.
The record combines spoken narration and musical interludes performed by Crosby with full chorus and orchestra, offering a nostalgic blend of storytelling and song reminiscent of 1950s family Christmas traditions.
