Mega-rare private lp of early computer music, demonstrating the capabilities of a then-state-of-the-art polyphonic electronic music system designed and built by Don Schertz (software) and John Pratt (hardware). Their 3-voice, digitally-controlled, microtunable synthesizer runs on an Intel 8080 chip (which was basically the first functioning microprocessor) with video and cassette interfaces and here plays works by Bach along with an eclectic selection of pop, ragtime, and polka songs in various weird microtonal tunings. The notes on the back are academic-minded and detail all of the parts used in the Schertz Computer Music system. This cool obscure artifact of primitive electronic computer music will be of interest to fans of computer and synth artists like Gottfried Michael Koenig, Bruce Haack, Jean-Jacques Perrey, Gershon Kingsley, Robert Moog, Donald Buchla, Paul Lansky, Jon Appleton, Pietro Grossi, Piero Umiliani, Max Mathews, John R. Insured Priority Airmail with tracking is also available but pricing depends on destination country and will be calculated after auction closes (or you can email me with your address for a quote). Note: I can also offer international buyers the super-cheap M-Bag bulk airmail rate for orders of 9 or more lps; to most destinations this costs 35.00 for up to 17 lps, a huge per-record savings over standard rates for smaller parcels! All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings.
