Description
This is a very nice stereo 180g USA pressing of Neville Marriner and The Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields performing Bizet’s Symphony in C major and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 “Classical” as issued by King Super Analogue (catalog number KIJC-9129). The recording was originally recorded by London Records in 1972 and this reissue is from 1994. The record is from my personal collection and was initially cleaned on a VPI record vacuum and treated with Last Record preservative. It was re-cleaned with an Audio Desk Ultra-sonic record cleaner and demagnetized. The record was recently play-graded using a Lyra Kleos cartridge on a VPI Classic IV turntable.
Side 1 has no scuffs or scratches and plays with only 7 light ticks noted over the side. Side 2 has a ¾” light scratch on band 1 which only results in a single light tick. I noted an additional 12 light ticks over the remainder of the side.
The jacket is in excellent condition with no seam splits, ring wear, but has some slight compression in the lower left corner. The OBI is in excellent condition with only a bend at the corner. There is a standard inner sheet with notes only in Japanese as well as the Super Analogue Disk sheet. Both are in mint- condition. The LP is housed in the standard heavy plastic outer sleeve with the gold seal on the back.
