Description
Side 1: Black Sabbath; The Wizard; Behind the Wall of Sleep; NIB.
Side 2: Evil Woman; Sleeping Village; Warning.
Label/Format: Vertigo, a rarer original first issue large Spiral format that includes ‘A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT’ at the 6 o’clock position of the label. This detail was only on the first issues, subsequent Swirl pressings omitted this text. The labels have matt surfaces with a gentle trace of texturing.
Label Conditions: Both labels are very clean, fresh and attractive with only light, fine and faint spindle marks.

Rarity: The album itself is moderately scarce, indeed it was one of the better sellers on this most collectable label. But the genuine first issues with the Philips credit text on the label are much harder to find. This would have been a genuine first few weeks of release copy.

I'm try and be as detailed as I can be. I've managed to pick up a better copy of this now so this is why I'm selling.
Sleeve. The sleeve has both top corners dog eared. Apart from that, for a Matt finished sleeve it has lasted well. Very small faint creases on the bottom. The rear sleeve is very clean with only the very slight up turned edges that are noticeable.
Spine. All text is present and readable on the spine. It has a crease down the middle from about a third of the way down. But the album title and Vertigo text are in tact.
Inner gatefold. The black inner has faded at the edges but all text is in tact with no rubbing of any words or Sabbath logo.
Inner. Vertigo swirl sleeve in all there although it has turned slightly a tea stained colour, no rips though and still has its liner. Plus it's number stamped. It does have 386 written on it in biro. Looks to be done in period.
Vinyl. Both sides have surface marks but no real big scratches. It has a surface background noise as expected but nothing worse than normal. It sounds fantastic. Still glossy. It has a slight dink in the side which is off the playing surface. Doesn't affect it. See photos.
Please study the photos. This is far from a mint copy so it's not for you if your after that, but this is so hard to come by now that I believe buying even VG copies is worth it and if it's the one you need to compete the collection then it's a must.
I'm letting this just run and see what price it gets. Starting at 99p due to its condition and just see if I get the interest.
