Description

BLACK SABBATH by BLACK SABBATH 847 903 VTY

GATEFOLD LP ALBUM, FIRST PRESSING, VO 6 ON MERCURY SWIRL LABEL

WITH “A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT” CREDIT ON THE LABEL.

I have been collecting LPs since about 1970, the year this album was produced. I haven’t owned this from new, but I have treasured it all the time I have owned it. To be honest, I have only just realised how rare this copy is with the Philips credit on the label.

Reluctantly, I have decided to sell, and hope this goes to a real Sabbath fan who will appreciate it.

Condition

I have recently played the album throughout and was blown away by the quality of the sound. No scratches, No marks, No surface noise (even during the quiet sections). It is as crisp and clear as the day it left the factory.

Both visually and audibly, the disc is in absolute MINT condition (see photos). You will not find one better.

The cover is in EXCELLENT condition. Very little wear and tear to the edges and corners. The only faults are a tiny nick on the front top left. You have to look really closely to actually see it, and the inner spine has cracked slightly (one inch) due to age and the action of opening and closing the gatefold. (see photos)

Inner sleeve with Mercury Swirl is intact and without any damage. Only slight discolouration due to age.

I’m starting the auction low at £100 with no reserve.

Any questions for further information will be welcome.

If you require any additional photos please let me know.

International buyers please message me before bidding.

Postage will be First Class insured.

Packaging will  include stiffeners for full protection.

Good Luck with the bidding.

Record Collector Magazine Grading System - VINYL

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint

EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and or deface

POOR (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. I do not list poor items ever!
