An original 1st press [on WWA] of Paranoid from 1973. Do bear in mind that Paranoid was first released 3 years earlier on Vertigo, but some of these copies go for astronomical $$$. In order to bag a top-level copy from this period without shelling out a fortune - why not consider the 1973 WWA pressing [silver logo]. Coming hot on the heels of those original Vertigo copies it even has the original 1st release catalogue number still present in the deadwax "6360011". Matrix 2/2. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original WWA logo deluxe full-lamination gatefold cover. Also included is the original WWA generic white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and clean and the audio audio comes across with great clarity. A cracking rendition with the bludgeoning sound of SABBATH coming through loud and clear for maximum effect. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side..e.g. intro to War Pigs. All of witch is extremely minor and of no consequence whatsoever. By and large a very clean player even in..."Planet Caravan" - which always sorts the men out from the boys! A fantastic rendition and, if that perfect Vertigo copy alludes you, I would be seriously considering this as the 'next best option'.
Cover (Ex+) Wow, the Paranoid cover design looks ace..when you see it on a well preserved original cover...it's like..YES! Lovely clean front and back without creasing or indentations - clearly aided by the lamination. But it's a similar story inside where it's not laminated. many copies will show foxing or ageing - not here, this copy is as sweet as the day it was printed. Edge wear is very slight and the openings are still sharp. The spine is pretty much entirely intact. Basically...it's as good as it gets. FINAL UPGRADE.
Inner (Ex) A genuine WWA inner. Great condition with no splits or markings.
