Description
BOB DYLAN
BLONDE ON BLONDE
(UK CBS, SDDP 66012, 1966)
RARE ULTIMATE FIRST UK STEREO PRESSING of one of Dylan's most iconic albums and one of the first double albums in rock history (Zappa's Freak Out! came out around the same time). Finding first UK stereo pressings is incredibly difficult - this is definitely the genuine article - labels are textured, side 2 credits Memphis Blues as Stuck Inside Of Mobile With Thee, laminated gatefold sleeve has the original set of pictures in the inside and the flipbacks, the matrix stampers are the earliest. Mono pressings are much easier to find. Some stereo pressings even show up in mono sleeves, there were far less stereo sleeves made but as you can see from the pictures the front of sleeve has the 'stereo' CBS logo. The 1970 smooth label pressings are often advertised as first pressings - those are second pressings. This has the textured labels! It is a beautiful heavy pressing with great sound and this is one of the best examples I have ever seen! You will be not be disappointed! Don't miss out!
Both discs are in EX condition : a few light marks on all sides which do not affect play, sounds great overall with very light surface noise
Laminated gatefold flipback sleeve is in EX condition : a few creases on the front opening panel, light disc imprints, edges and spine almost good as new, inside is very clean and looks great
Run-out grooves:
SIDE 1 - SDDP 66012 A1 stamped
SIDE 2 - SDDP 66012 B1 stamped
SIDE 3 - SDDP 66012 C1 stamped
SIDE 4 - SDDP 66012 D1 stamped
