This limited edition 2-Lp deluxe box set is taken from the original master tapes, pressed on 180 vinyl, and features a full Lp size booklet with the original artwork and liner notes. Prior to it's release by Sony, this recording was only available as a bootleg from the early 70's. In it's bootlegged form the record became revered as one of the most sought after bootlegs ever. Recorded on May 17th, 1966 in Manchester,England, this monumental performance catches Dylan in a pivotal moment of his career. The concert begins with an acoustic set of the compositions which had established him as the preeminent folk artist of the day. But the wake up call sounds in the second half of the show when Dylan, not content to be pigeonholed as a mere "folkie", plugs in his electric guitar and proceeds to set preconceptions as well as the musical world on their respective ears. Backed by The Hawks (who included members who would later make-up The Band), Dylan mixes folk and rock into a galvanised musical message with a roaring amplifed set concluding with an eight minute rendition of the classic Like A Rolling Stone. Songs include: She Belongs To Me, 4th Time Around, Visions Of Johanna, It's All Over Now, Baby Blue, Desolation Row, Just Like A Woman, Mr. Tambourine Man, Tell Me Mama, I Don't Believe You (She Acts Like We Never Have Met), Baby, Let Me Follow You Down, Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, Leopard Skin Pill-Box Hat, One Too Many Mornings, Ballad Of A Thin Man, Like A Rolling Stone.
