Bob Dylan's Japanese treasure is finally here! A complete recording of Bob Dylan's first performance in Japan, the legendary two days at Nippon Budokan in 1978. 15 years after the miraculous discovery, the world's first release! Worldwide release has also been decided! History is finally revealed.
Bob Dylan's first performance in Japan was held from February to March 1978, and the album released in November under the title "Budokan" was later officially released worldwide. It was recorded over two days, February 28 and March 1, 1978, but the master tapes were discovered in 2007. After a long period of release negotiations, the people involved at the time reunited 45 years after the album's first visit to Japan. Mr. Haeckel Kanno, who planned [Budokan] in 1978, was appointed as general supervisor, and the engineer who recorded at the time (Mr. Tomoo Suzuki) performed 2023 REMIX from 24ch multi-tape, resulting in a superb sound. The artwork was also created by the same designer (Teruhisa Tajima) as at the time, and the commercialization of [Complete Budokan] was finally realized as a uniquely Japanese project led by Japan. It has also been decided that it will be released worldwide. [The Complete Budokan 1978] is a 4-CD set that includes two days of live recordings, approximately 270 minutes, and 36 of the 58 tracks are unreleased. Memorabilia such as tickets for the first performance in Japan, pamphlets, posters, flyers, etc. A 60-page color booklet containing live photos, off-shots, liners, etc. from airports, press conferences, and performances in Japan. It will be released as a limited production edition in a luxurious specification that houses these in an LP-sized box.
Recorded in Japan, master tapes, artwork - all produced by Japanese hands, a groundbreaking worldwide release recognized by Bob Dylan, the Nobel Prize winner in literature and one of the most important artists in the rock world.
