Originally released locally in Japan on vinyl October 1996 and CD October 1997. This reissue marks the first time in 25years that the studio recordings have been available. At the time, this split was the first time Boris had released their music on vinyl and it was the debut release of the trio that has continued to today.
The original vinyl release was a 10 inch with only the CD containing the live tracks. Working with UK label Dog Knights Productions, the original CD artwork and track listing is what has been updated and reissued as vinyl here.
When discussing this reissue, Atsuo explained not being very knowledgeable about mastering back in 1996 and so rather than calling this a 're-master', he considers this vinyl to be the first proper master of the original recordings. The difference is clearly audible.
The live tracks by Boris are not notated as to where or when they were recorded. However, what we do know is that from very early on, the band has been recording their live performances so it's not easy to pinpoint when these performances were captured.
The 2023 release came out internationally and on the three different vinyl variants. This however is the Test Pressing which I believe is one of 5 copies.
