Bradford Alexander Mehldau is an American jazz pianist, composer and arranger.
He studied music at the New School and was a member of Joshua Redman’s quartet
with bassist Christian McBride and drummer Brian Blade in the mid-1990s, and has
led his own trio since the early 1990s. His first long-term trio featured bassist
Larry Grenadier and drummer George Rossy, and later Jeff Ballard. He is the
winner of countless awards. Mehldau’s debut album for Nonesuch was a solo piano
performance recorded live at Sumida Triphony Hall in Tokyo on February 15, 2003
but released in September of 2004. The album received universally favorable reviews.
 AllMusic awarded the album 4 ½ stars and called it an “intense, cerebral, and beautiful
album.” The Guardian’s John Fordham identifies it as “Another bold step on Mehldau’s
 imperious way.” On All About Jazz, Doug Collete noted, “Mehldau plays beautifully on
his own, his work is florid with detail, yet never just flowery. There is a deeply felt passion
in all he plays, and that’s exactly why he is so engrossing to hear: in a solo setting
Mehldau demonstrates how he selects his ideas altogether discriminatingly from what
must be a veritable flood of variations that occur to him as he plays. It’s not long into
 listening to Live in Tokyo that you are reminded how skillfully he runs the gamut of
emotion in his playing.” JazzTimes reviewer, Harvey Siders commented “Few pianists can
match Brad Mehldau when it comes to cross-fertilizing jazz, classical and rock. The
same applies for technique, taste and intellectual curiosity. All of those qualities are on
display in Mehldau’s latest CD.” For the 15th anniversary of the album, Run Out Groove
in conjunction with Nonesuch Records is releasing Live In Tokyo on vinyl for the first time
and including the full set, that features tracks making their debut
in the U.S. on any format for the first time.

LP PACKAGING
We package our LPs in a thick cardboard LP mailer. 
We ALWAYS take the LP out of the jacket of 2nd hand items to 
avoid any seam splitting that could occur in shipment. 
We put the LP and the jacket in an LP plastic sleeve. 
We do NOT open sealed LPs unless requested. 
We cushion the LP in bubble wrap and use shipping tape 
on all spines to protect the integrity of the box, and to 
insure the safety of the contents. All this is included in

the low shipping price. We will clean your purchase on our 
VPI machine if and when necessary. This insures that 
you receive your item in the best possible condition.

 LP SHIPPING
We offer the US Postal Service’s Media Mail and / or Priority 
for shipping in the U.S. Buyer’s choice. The buyer pays the shipping, 
packing (see above) and handling charges. Tracking is included 
with both. We occasionally run domestic shipping specials.

Shipping to other countries is by the United States Postal 
Service's First Class Mail International. Priority International 
Is also available.
