Brahms: Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68

On the Columbia ED1 (no blue/silver exists) red/black semi-circle labels. Comes in a front laminated, flipback cover along with the original EMI inner sleeve. Has been ultrasonically cleaned with the record placed in a new MFSL anti-static sleeve and the original inner retained with the record.
CONDITION
Examined under a strong halogen lamp, side one has a scattering of sleeve withdrawal marks only visible under the lamp, and one 1" light scratch. Side two has one 2" light scratch and a scattering of sleeve withdrawal marks but some bordering on what I would call very light surface scratches. An overall visual grade of Very Good.
Played on a Rega RP6 turntable through an Arcam FMJ A19 amp and Monitor speakers, it plays as follows:
Side 1 - mostly a very quiet background crackle throughout that is more noticeable during quiet passages, and about 30 seconds of quiet 'tics' after about 14 minutes.
Side 2 - has 3 'clicks' at 4.25 and then some quiet background crackle that is largely unnoticeable after 10 minutes.
Generally, the music has a wonderful clarity to it in spite of the surface noise mentioned.
A play-grade of Very Good.
Does not skip or stick.
Both labels just have the faintest spindle trails.
The cover has some light creasing and some light staining on the back. The inner has an ink inscription.NOTE: photos are not 'stock' photos and are of the actual record.

GRADING GUIDE - IMPORTANT!
I visually examine all records under a strong 35w halogen lamp, which shows up ALL defects.
I strictly grade my records according to the Record Collector / Rare Record Price Guide (RRPG) guidelines, which, means to me as follows:
MINT- Must be sealed
NEAR MINT - Totally unmarked, no scratches, not even faint 'hairlines' / sleeve withdrawal marks or any other signs of having been played.
EXCELLENT - No scratches, just signs of having been played, such as the odd faint 'hairline' sleeve withdrawal mark that is only visible under the lamp.
VERY GOOD - The first mild scratches have begun to appear, but only very, very few.
GOOD - More scratches than Very Good and more severe, but I am confident that the record will play through without skips or sticking and will still provide a good listening experience.
FAIR - The record may not play through properly with a chance of it jumping and / or it will play with significant background noise.
POOR - It definitely won't play without skipping or sticking.
Below Near Mint I will use a plus or minus suffix with a grade to highlight fine differences.
COVER GRADES
I try to ensure that my cover grades are EXACTLY as stated in Record Collector magazine / RRPG. Therefore, if a cover is defaced, or torn I won't grade it better than Fair or Good. However, if the fault is relatively minor and the rest of the cover is overwhelmingly of a certain grade then I will use this grade.
