ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC!



A limited-edition, direct-to-disc production recorded in 1978, that features Brubeck on an SD-10 Baldwin, here joined by his sons Darius, Chris, and Dan, respectively playing a Fender Rhodes, Rickenbacker fretless bass, and steel drum.

That said, the sound here is to-die-for, as the “new” quartet delivers a stunning ELLINGTON MEDLEY, on side 1. 

Side 2 offers up FORTY DAYS – SERMON ON THE MOUNT.  Side 3 brings us UNISPHERE, THREE TO GET READY, and BLUE RONDO A LA TURK.  And side 4 brings us home with UNSQUARE DANCE, and the illustrious TAKE FIVE, done in a manner that will have you wide-eyed and jaw dropped.  (Awesome display of sound.)



Best yet, is this copy, which is hard to fault at all: Cover is like new, the inside hardboard booklet is fine indeed, and both records look entirely unplayed.  (Fact is, if these LPs have ever seen a turntable, I’ll eat my tonearm.)
