Description
Grading: Sleeves These un-laminated sleeves are shabby, or manuscript chic, depending on your point of view!
Sleeves 2 - 6 are generally Good/Good (+). There is some evidence of foxing and shelf wear is evident on some of the edges. All are completely intact and the paper is actually quite crisp, albeit a little tatty at the corners. Sleeve 6 has an 8 cm spine split at the centre of the spine and there is a very small tear to the side of sleeve 3. They are not laminated and the owner's name appears, in light biro, on the rear of each sleeve.
Record 1 is Good (-). It has a laminated, flip back. The front laminate is intact. The rear laminate is incomplete and the lower scalloped edge is tatty. There are no splits or stains.
Visual grading:Vinyl Records 2 - 6: Very Good (+) Record 1: Very Good/Good
All sides are glossy and typically (under strong light), have two or three non sounding, faint hairlines, or sleeve marks, per disc.
Play Grading: Records 2 - 6: Very Good (+)/Excellent Record 1: side 1: Very Good (+) side 6: Good
Record 6, side 10, has a 1cm wispy sleeve mark on band 1 that results in some very soft, but recurrent ticks, for about half of that small band.
Record 1, side 6, has several small, faint hairlines and a very small scratch on band 2 and there are some recurrent, albeit fairly quiet ticks, during the first 2 bands.
All the records track perfectly and play very well indeed, but, with non recurring, very soft ticks, here and there. Typically, these are very infrequent, or non existent, in middle to later bands and indeed the majority of these bands have a remarkably quiet background, even during the quietest passages. Clearly, the records themselves have been well looked after; there are no loud clicks, or pops and I find no evidence of groove wear. Instead, these recordings have a lovely, sparkling tone and bloom. All of Tureck's nuances, subtleties, and precision; the touch and decay of notes, are abundantly evident throughout.
NB All labels are unmarked and have the grooved ring at their periphery. Please note that three are plum with silver lettering and three are plum with gold. All records come with the inner sleeves shown in the photos. For shipping purposes, they will be removed from their outer sleeves and packed in archive quality liners.
