Description

Hi!  You're looking at an excellent condition, NEAR MINT / NEAR MINT- record which is an EXTREMELY RARE and hard to find recording by the great virtuoso violinist NATHAN MILSTEIN, who is heard here in a series of violin pieces with only the piano accompaniment Leon Pommers.  It's a classic recording on the Capitol FDS (Full Dimensional Sound) label with STUNNING sound--the record is an ORIGINAL ISSUE with the green and gold Capitol label and bears the serial number P 8396.  The laminated cover is in NEAR MINT condition and in virtually FLAWLESS condition, with just a very clean 2 inch split along the tip opening edge and NO other imperfections; the vinyl is in NM- condition with some light paper scuffs and a few extremely light marks that should not significantly affect play.  The record is titled "Milstein Vignettes" and features Nathan Milstein in a wonderful recital of virtuoso violin pieces.  The compositions include the Polonaise in D Major, Opus 4 by HENRI WIENIAWSKI; "Asturiana" and "Jota" by MANUEL de FALLA; "Berceuse on the name of Gabriel Faure" by MAURICE RAVEL; "Romanza Andaluza" by PABLE de SARASATE; "Traumerei" by ROBERT SCHUMANN; the Air from the Suite in D Major by JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH; "Perpetuum Mobile" by OTTOKER NOVACEK; "Melodie", Opus 42, No. 3 by PETER TCHAIKOVSKY; "The Maid with the Flaxen Hair" by CLAUDE DEBUSSY; and the Scherzo-Tarantelle, Opus 16 by HENRI WIENIAWSKI.   A fantastic find, and a great copy of this RARE and hard to find AUDIOPHILE record!
