INSANELY RARE original BDM-1001 white label advance PROMOTIONAL first pressing of the Captain's incalculably influential debut LP on Buddah from 1967 in glorious mono!!! As groundbreaking as this LP was, it was only a mild foreshadowing of the gargantuan stylistic leaps and bounds of Trout Mask Replica a mere two years later. Why this LP is rarely mentioned in the same breath as 1967 peers Sgt. Peppers/Piper At the Gates/Velvet Underground With Nico is beyond me, but I've always been an avid Beefheart champion and will forever be. Absolutely essential listening. LP is VG- visually but plays nicely with very mild background noise. Cover is VG with a 4" piece of thin transparent tape at the top middle and a price tag residue in the top right hand corner on the front only.
