CAPTAIN BEEFHEART (AND HIS MAGIC BAND) - 'STRICTLY PERSONAL.'
Rarer MONO! UK 1st pressing on blue/turquoise LIBERTY labels. LBL 83172. (1968). First issue matrix and gatefold sleeve.
UK Gatefold sleeve grades full EXCELLENT condition. Intact, fully legible spine text. Clean and solid condition with moderate signs of slight discolouration, age and handling wear, mostly near the spine on the reverse gatefold. Inside gatefold is clean and free from damage. I have seen only a handful of these and the sleeves were in a lot worse condition than the one I am offering. This is a big Beefheart collectible and very desirable particularly in UK Mono format. Small, discreetly written name to rear top right of sleeve. Were it not for this the sleeve would be more like EX+.
The glossy vinyl grades EXCELLENT (EX) visibly (maybe EX+ even), but it does have a 'mottling' effect on Side 1 only which some copies of this album did have. Plays through extremely well with no nasties, marks or scratches. A couple of tiny hairline marks which do not play. Rare LP!
In all a great example of this very rare UK Captain Beefheart/Magic Band album. The labels are also in great condition. An upgrade copy for many I am sure.
