ORIGINAL UK PRESSING CAT NO. SDL R1 1971 ON THE ORIGINAL (DECCA) DERAM LABELS! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME CRISTAL CLEAR AUDIO! LOOKS ONLY BARELY PLAYED  IN MY OPINION! NEAR MINT STUNNING TOP AUDIO!
THE ORIGINAL ROBERT STACE GATEFOLD AWESOME PROG PSYCH ALBUM AT ITS BEST! UNBELIEVABLE CONDITION FOR 36 YEARS OLD! THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS MATRIX -1D AND -1D PRESSED FROM THE EARLIEST MASTERS (MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE)
"1" TO "1" MOTHER STAMPERS! LOOK NO STAMPERS AT 3 O'CLOCK TO THE MATRIX!

Another from my personal collection. An awesome sounding early original UK pressing by Caravan ''In The Land Of Grey And Pink'' Look! very early features ''-1D and ''-1D'' Matrix endings and earliest ''1'' to ''1'' Mother Stampers! Earliest produce the best audio quality on vinyl in my opinion! The vinyl looks and sounds barely played a minimal amount of times in my personal opinion! In fact this plays through near as mint on my systems, stunning separation clear and vibrant throughout. Overall grading in my opinion would be Near Mint for the audio quality on my systems absolutely fantastic throughout! This is complete with the original decca stereo record sleeve and very hard to find un-laminated  Robert Stace gate fold with just slight yellowing at the spine and edges to mention in truly exceptional condition!
Listen to the actual album for yourself in the player below! Actual recording from the vinyl!

Caravan is a band from the Canterbury area (KENT,ENGLAND), founded by former Wilde Flowers members David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan. Caravan rose to success over a period of several years from 1968 onwards into the 1970s as part of the Canterbury scene, blending psychedelic rock and jazz to create a distinctive sound like their contemporaries Soft Machine. Caravan still remains active as a live band in the 21st century!.

Following the dissolution of their former band, Wilde Flowers, David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan formed Caravan in 1968. The band became the first British act to sign for American record label, Verve, who subsequently released the band's debut LP, Caravan, later the same year.

After this Verve closed their rock and pop division, causing Caravan to move to Decca Records for the release of If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You in 1970, from which the title track gained the band an appearance on Top Of The Pops, and then Deram (Decca's progressive subsidiary) for 1971's In the Land of Grey and Pink.

In the Land of Grey and Pink is an album by progressive rock band Caravan, released in 1971.

According to allmusic.com, "it is considered by many to be the pinnacle release from Caravan."

The title track is most likely the bands most well-known song!

"Golf Girl" (R.Sinclair) – 5:05
"Winter Wine" (R.Sinclair) – 7:36
"Love to Love You (And Tonight Pigs Will Fly)" (P.Hastings) – 3:04

"Nine Feet Underground/Nigel Blows a Tune/Love's a Friend/Make It 76/Dance of the Seven Paper Hankies/Hold Grandad by the Nose/Honest I Did!/Disassociation/100% Proof" (D.Sinclair) – 22:43

The matrix

side 1. ZAL-10424P-1D (THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS MATRIX)
side 2. ZAL-10425P-1D (THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS MATRIX)

The Mother Stampers

side 1. ''1'' ''??'' (LOOK "1"to"1" Mother Stampers and no visible stampers at 3 o'clock to the matrix very rare)
side 2. ''1'' ''??'' (LOOK "1"to"1" Mother Stampers and no visible stampers at 3 o'clock to the matrix very rare)

The labels

The original labels are in awesome top condition. Features the DERAM (DECCA SUBSIDIARY) LABELS only early press)! All rights.... are featured around the label rim(only early press)! I can see very little amount of spidering and hardly any spindle ware at all which indicates that this has hardly been played very (very) rare for an album that is 43 years old!

The vinyl

The vinyl is absolutely superbe on initial visual inspection, and still retains its sheen from new! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of warping. (please note this vinyl has had just minimal play and (not) been over played at all! Please note! The record plays through absolutely perfectly throughout! There are there no signs of groove ware or distortion! I have played this through track for track and the audio quality is superb crystal clear and extremely vibrant! Any light whyspy marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only!

The Audio Quality

I have played this track through a couple of times prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system. The audio on this pressing in my opinion is very near, as good as it gets for a very early UK pressing! Even in between tracks there is extremely minimal noise lovely and quiet! I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and the by this awesome Progressive Rock band ''CARAVAN''! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! top! top! audio throughout!! no loud constant clicks, pops and certainly no jumps or skips at all! Audio graded at least excellent plus to near mint throughout!

Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! please allow for the odd isolated static /tick certainly not consistent throughout the audio, please remmember that this is a genuine 43 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 43 year old system!

The record sleeve

This is the original stereo Decca poly lined sleeve (no) splits or tares ! Becoming fragile with age only. The vinyl is now always stored seperately from the vinyl

The cover

This is the original ROBERT STACE PRINTED un- laminated gatefold cover. In exceptional condition for 43 years old! These original un-laminated variations are scarce and very hard to find in this condition after 43 years! Just very Light storageware to mention! Amazingly (no) real nasty creases worth mentioning! (very minor\minimal laminate creases at the spine end, not really noticable unless you look for them in my opinion) There is slight yellowing worth to mention at the spine and edges but again only really noticed if looked for in my opinion! Rubbing wear is slight at the spine and edges. I would grade this cover at least excellent in my opinion!
