Caravan - Caravan Verve Forecast VLP. 6011 Matrix details are A-1/B-1 Mothers are 1G/2A
1st UK mono with pillar sleeve - 'Sold in UK' label text - earliest labels
Record has some quite deep scratches which produce pops when played. It does not skip when played on my Rega P3. In the areas with no scratches the record plays excellently. Would have to grade overall as good. Please listen to the audio to hear how the record plays.
I am not a massive fan of mono pressings on the whole, but I have to say that in comparison to the stereo this wins hands down. Shame about the scratches, but nevertheless, this is an unbelievably hard record to come by. I am only selling due to the fact that I already have an excellent stereo copy.
The sleeve is a stereo with mono sticker put over the top at the plant. This is not uncommon. In fact, I have seen this record where they have crossed out stereo and written mono by hand. There must have been a shortage of mono sleeves at the pressing plant when putting out these records for the short-lived label. It also has EMI stickers. Not sure if these are original, but going by the mother stampers it seems likely these records were pressed by EMI, but I can’t vouch for that.
The sleeve has some damage top right front, which has been coloured in - reasonably well on this occasion - never too sure why people do this!

Record is GOOD - has quite a few scratches which do affect playback. Does not skip on my deck.
