- Vinyl Grade: EX (overall play grade; VG+ on 2 tracks only) *Incredible pressing with vinyl still displaying a nice shiny gloss! There were a couple of spindle marks and a scuff blem that produced some low-grade background surface noise on a couple of tracks (Earth Man & Hopalong Kassidy). Otherwise entire record plays strong and clean with fantastic sound quality! condition of labels are as seen in photos
- Cover Grade: NM *very light shelf wear with only real flaw being a tiny ding on bottom seam

- Info: A phenomenal album from one of Jamaica's greatest groups! Carlos Malcolm formed the Afro-Jamaican Rhythms in 1962 and "Ska-Mania" was the group's second album. The song that best sums up their unique take on ska is "Skamania," led by Winston Turner's exhilarating, dizzying trumpet blasts. This stunning, nearly six-minute medley exuberantly melds together mento faves, beautifully tying together that indigenous style with the new ska sound that had swept the island. As keen as Malcolm was to incorporate Jamaican folk music into the band's own repertoire, he was equally eager to blend in jazz, R&B, Spanish stylings, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Check out the inspired "Hunchback No. 1," where jazz slams straight into R&B and rocks right into ska, "Tip Toe" through cool,sophisticated Latin-spiced fields, or bossa nova along with the skanking "Sweetie Charlie," swing with the big band sound of "Run for Cover," or fly away on the ska-themic "Wings of A Dove."Like the Skatalites, many of the Afro-Jamaicans were also graduates of the Alpha Boys School, signalled by their phenomenal musicianship. Very Good Plus (VG+): The vinyl is considered a good playable copy that may display more signs of wear than a VG++ grade, but one's overall listening experience will still be positive. Very Good (VG): Many of the defects seen in a VG+ record or jacket will be more pronounced on a VG album. The vinyl displays more visual blems, and even though surface noise is evident during play, it will still not overpower the music. Jackets will also have more numerous visual blems. All flaws will be noted in the item description.
Good (G): A record in good condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without any repeating "skips", although it will have more severe audible surface noise and scratches than a VG record. Jackets will also have even more pronounced defects than a VG cover. This grade is usually reserved for impossibly rare records that are otherwise unattainable.
