Carmen Taylor was among the earliest artists signed to Atlantic Records when the label launched with her first records appearing in 1953. She jumped from Atlantic, to Apollo and King in the ‘50s but didn’t have much success with any of her records, even though they were really good.
Then there was a gap of about eight years before she turned up at the new Kama Sutra label. There in December of 1965, right about the same time they were mailing out the new Lovin’ Spoonful single “You Didn’t Have To Be So Nice,” along with it came this single with “My Son” and “You’re Puttin’ Me On.” While it didn’t chart, it was one that caught on with the soul collectors, for good reason.
