Description

Chairs Missing is the second studio album by the English rock band Wire. It was released on 8 September 1978 through Harvest Records. The album peaked at number 48 in the UK Albums Chart. Although it features some of the minimalist punk rock of the band's debut Pink Flag, Chairs Missing contains more developed song structure (taking some cues from 1970s prog-rock, psychedelia, and art rock), keyboard and synthesizer elements brought in by producer Mike Thorne, and a broader palette of emotional and intellectual subject matter. The single "Outdoor Miner" was a minor hit, peaking at number 51 in the UK singles chart.

FUN FACT:  The title is said to be a British slang term for a mildly disturbed person, as in "that guy has a few chairs missing in his front room". 

THIS COPY is a U.K. Repress, believed to be from 1982 (see Notes, below).  Note that in the runout info, of the "2 7 2" and "2 5 2" parts, I can only make out the two 2s. Note also that I have graded conservatively.

The vinyl, both visually and per a test listen, is in Excellent [EX} or better condition.,

The original cover is in Very Good Plus [VG+] or better condition, with only some slight edge rubbing and a wrinkle or two.

The original inner sleeve, which is made of cardboard rather than the usual paper, has slightly rounded corners and a picture of the band on one side with song lyrics on the revers.  It is in Excellent [EX] or better condition.
