PITHECANTHROPUS ERECTUS 

ATLANTIC RECORDS # 1237

Exceptionally nice condition and well preserved original United States Mono pressing of this hard to find early Mingus album, released in 1956.  The record is on the black and silver Deep Groove Atlantic label which reads “LONG PLAYING UNBREAKABLE” at the bottom.  The Atlantic Records address on the back of the cover is “157 West 57th Street, New York 19, New York”.

COVER: The cover is nice and thick cardboard and retains almost all of its original glossy luster on the front.  The back has just a bit of light surface wear.  This jacket is beautiful and grades NM. 

VINYL: Likewise, the record is beautiful and shows a small amount of superficial sleeve marking.  It grades NM.
