CHECKMATES Buffalo test press LP unidentified funk HEAR

Comments: Original pressing on Buffalo Records. No clue as to what this is or if it's of any relation to any of the known bands named Checkmates. Listen to the MP3's I'm including for a better idea and please feel free to drop me a line if you recognize this. Sleeve has a Buffalo Records stamp and the name "Checkmates" hand written & crossed out and "BETTE MIDLER" written in. This certainly isn't Bette Midler though!
