Chet Baker (tr. vocal), with mario Pezzotta (tb), Glauco Masetti (as), Gianni Basso (ts), Fausto Papetti (brs), Franco Cerri (b), Gene Victory (dr). Giulio LIbano (celesta + arr). Len Mercer (= Ezio Leoni) dir. & arranger. String section added (16 violins, 4 violas, 4 cellos, 2 bass, harp, oboe, french horn, flute, bass-clarinet).

ANGEL EYES

Jacket :    VG - 

Flexible paper with light lamination, shows the following defetcs.

FRONT COVER: vertical tear restored from top corner left, crease still visible, ca. 12 cm. long; lower corners show marked wear with creases.

SEAMS & SPINE: Spine heavily damaged but glued and restored: writing on spine is however hard to read. Top seam in very good condition, lower seam shows a few short vertical creases.

BACK COVER: quite cleaned, with minimal yellowing and no ring wear, but with lack of lamination close to the middle spine, with some pen strokes.

Upper flipback seam in very good condition, just a faded name written in pen. Lower flipback seam quite worn with several creases, wear near lower left corner, repaired and gloued in 2 or 3 points.

Vinyl :   VG -

Visually shows many scratches an rubs on both sides, but only a few can be detected with the  fingernail. Aurally the overall sound is surprisngly good for such conditions, with no distortion at all, even in loud passages. However a general background surface noise can be heard behind the music on all tracks, with occasional pops, click and crakles, but they never go beyond the music.  

Catalogue/Label :

CELSON LPQ 25.005, first original Italian pressing, High Fidelity (mono); light blue with black lettering, deep groove. Label on side B show a pen stroke (see scans).

Later reissued on Joker label (SM 3035).

GRADING CODE

Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light. 

        NM  (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".

EX   (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.

VG  Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.

VG-(Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues. 

VG+ Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
