CLARICE LABBE & CHARLIE HAMPTON -- Clarice Swings With Charlie Hampton -- hard to find, original 1980 U.S. album. Excellent private press Spiritual Jazz-Modern Soul crossover LP w/ vocalist and jazz violinist Labbe paired with Charlie Hampton (arranger for the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder etc.) Highlight is likely "No Other Love But You" (written by Labbe) w/ seductive uptempo Modern Soul groove, superb vocals by Labbe herself, totally killer. Wild cover of Charlie Parker's "Now Is The Time" w/ jazz violin (!), and good Barry White-style vocals by Hampton on soulful "I'm Gonna Cut You Loose." See photo for track list.
