Description
HERE IS one of the great records of the entire 1920s, the epochal "CLEMENTINE" by JEAN GOLDKETTE AND HIS ORCHESTRA. This is the new, "swinging" Goldkette band, which got captured on records only this ONCE. Prominently featuring a tremendous solo by BIX BEIDERBECKE* (cornet), with JOE VENUTI (violin) in the bridge, and a wonderful cobbled-together-by-the-band arrangement, it's a record to be cherished for all time.
NOT to forget the other side, "BALTIMORE" by JACK CRAWFORD AND HIS ORCHESTRA! This is ultra-peppy, even hysterical, dance-music-cum-jazz, with all kinds of screwy effects. It conjures up the image of wild '20s parties, with young Joan Crawford (no relation!) kicking up her heels, tuxedoed Joe College types in John Held, Jr. poses, and at least one drunken lampshade wearer. You can hear why Crawford was billed as "The Clown Prince of Jazz."
This original 1927 "Scroll" Victor 20994 is in shiny EE- condition. ESSENTIAL for your Jazz Age 78 collection!

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
