CLOUDS - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp music by PASQUALE CASTIGLIONE arranged and directed by PAOLO CASA. Original Italian pressing on the OCTOPUS label (OTP 0293), from 1975. Superb and eclectic Library set by the cult composers. Yet another inspired musical interpretation of mid '70s young America with that Italian hippie / counter-culture sound of the period. For us, bass player, Piero Montanari is the man leading the funkiest themes on this recording :) Our soundclip opens with the killer fender rhodes funk of GAMES followed by its psychedelic big brother CHASE and several other themes. Shades of the Remigio Ducros and Daniela Casa America Giovani Library with lots of infectious rhythms featuring heavy latin congas / buzz flute solos / wah wah fuzz distortions / electric piano and of course, shockingly funky bass and drums. Lovely, flute led bossa lounge on SEA-SIDE with spacey synth motifs and experimental psych with an obsessive mood a la Bruno Nicolai on NIGHTMARE. The 'strung-out' LONELINESS is a stoned synthesizer and e-piano theme. Country fried strange pop on the spaghetti western influenced RIDING and hypnotic oriental-esque piano throughout the sinister MODERN EXPRESSIONS. The CHASE theme was comped on Flipper Psychout by the Vampi Soul label. Castiglione was a key composer on The Cast Five - Popsound N.1 Library on Flirt label. Montanari was the man behind Bass Modulations / the bassist on the Romano Mussolini Mirage Lp and arranger - bass player on sleazy Joe D'Amato sex and horror film soundtracks. Rare Library Lp!!! Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to M- condition overall with a few hairlines and some very faint, old pressing residue marks. Light surface noises. Some soft pops and ticks. Please note, the first track of each side ('Clouds' and 'Mood' theme) has much more obstrusive surface noises but possibly due to the actual pressing? For us, both themes are not important so not recorded on our soundclip. The thin, laminated sleeve is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with light ring wear and ring dirt marks / natural rubs and scuffs and and a few crease lines from storage. Sharp corners and edges. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library Lp!!!
