Description
I have up for auction a great blues Album Set of 4 records (78s) on the red Columbia label. It is Set C-31 by Bessie Smith, Blues vocals with accompaniment by various great jazz musicians. It is entitled "Bessie Smith-Empress of the Blues". Records include:
1. #35672, "Cold In Hand Blues" and "You've Been A Good Ole Wagon"; w.Louis Armstrong-Cornet; Fred Longshaw-Piano.
2. #35673, "Young Woman's Blues"-w.her Blue Boys and "Cake Walking Babies"-w.Henderson's Hot Six.
3. #35674, "Lost Your Head Blues" and "Baby Doll", w.Fletcher Henderson-Piano, Joe Smith-Trumpet.
4. #35675, "Empty Bed Blues", Part 1 and Part 2. w.Charlie Green-Trombone; Porter Grainger-Piano.
The records are in very good plus to excellent condition, hardly any wear and scuffs and scratches are very few, light and surface variety. Surfacest still fairly shiny and clean. But cover and sleeves in so-so condition; edges frayed, some smudging, etc. but still intact.
