Description

This incredibly rare LP is by the sadly neglected early 1970s Liverpool prog/psych band Colonel Bagshot, originally known as Colonel Bagshot's Incredible Bucket Band. Although the group released several singles in the UK, originally on Parlophone and later on Polydor, this album was only released in the USA on Cadet - a division of Chess - and, in Italy by Music Records. This is the Cadet US album CC50010. The highlights of the album are the anti-war anthem "Six Day War" - later sampled for a chart single by D.J.Shadow - and a beautiful progressive ballad, Lord High Human Being. The whole album is an eclectic mix of styles, guitar led progressive, but quirky in that typically Liverpudlian way - sort of late Beatles crossed with early '70s Strawbs. Lead singer Brian Farrell, who also wrote 10 of the 11 tracks, is a dead ringer for Joe Cocker.

The condition is Near Mint; to my knowledge the LP has only been played once.
