Description
DESCRIPTION:
BRAHMS: String Quintets #1, Op. 88 and #2, Op. 11.
Budapest String Quartet with Walter Trampler, violist.
Columbia Masterworks Stereophonic LP. MS 6025.
Matrix Numbers: XXSM44244 LF "H.H." / XXSM44245 IJ "H.H."
US pressing. "6-Eye" label.
I believe this particular label was used 1958-62.
We recently acquired this LP in a large collection from the estate of the original owner, a WWII veteran (USN) who taught foreign language courses at local colleges and universities. He appears to have listened exclusively to classical music. During the 1980s and 90s he was either director of programming or program host for KIWR radio in Council Bluffs, IA (back when it was a classical station). Most of the LPs in the collection appear virtually unplayed. We believe the original owner played most of his LPs only once, in order to record them to tape.
See our other listings for more LPs and audiophile-quality home audio equipment from the same estate.
CONDITION:
VINYL:
The LP is Near Mint (our highest grade for an opened record).
Appears virtually unplayed. We believe the original owner played most of his LPs only once, in order to record them to tape.
The vinyl is generally very clean as found (although you may find a thumb smudge or 2 in the run-out groove area).
JACKET:
There is a very small dent to the bottom right corner of the jacket.
Otherwise the jacket is in excellent condition with only light shelf wear.
No other dents and no tears, splits, holes, marks, staining, discolorations, fading, creases, etc.
From a pet free, smoke free home.
No reserve!
