YEP, HERE IT IS. NEAR MINT (Jacket, labels, and vinyl) COPY OF THIS HOLY GRAIL, FUNKY, JAZZY, SOULFUL RECORD, UP FOR GRABS.

XINGU - EL COMBO XINGU, CHILEAN FUNK.

A great and rare vinyl Lp titled "El Combo Xingu", edited in Chile (from a private library ) ... this is what we can call " rare grooves ", but serious here !!!! Highly recommended, for the connoisseur! Enjoy their wild Hammond organ, frantic guitar, screaming horns section... So, killer essential Latin funk dope, contains "Bring Down The Birds","Black Power" ...some versions of Santana, Led Zeppelin & the famous James Brown cover with a version of JB's "Hot Pants".

A wicked Latin groover -- with lots of American funky touches! Xingu were an obscure 70's South American combo, but they clearly heard plenty of funky 45s from the US -- as the best tracks on this set have them grooving in a style that recalls the best of The Meters, The Nite-Liters, and other North American funk acts! The album features an insane instrumental funk remake of Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" -- complete with a breaking drum solo -- and also includes great versions of "Hot Pants", "Tanga Boo Gonk", and "Black Power" -- plus the smoking originals "493 West" and "Baja A Las Chiquillas".

This is the second LP by the group, a holy grail for collectors of Funk, rare groove, and Latin Funk music. Clean copies of this jewel are very difficult to find if not impossible.

Combo Xingu is one of the hardest LPs to find from the Chilean discography of latin funk and soul groups from the 70's. Most Lps and books about America and American music were destroyed during the governments of Allende and later, Pinochet suppressed anything that was not following his political guidelines: soul and funk were not precisely conservative.
