MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original MGM Records Hi-Fi Mono press released in Chile by MGM Records late 1959, made and distributed by Goluboff Industrias Fonográficas S.A. (Goluboff Records), catalog number MGM-SMD 602, with hand etched matrix numbers 58-XY-514 S3 (“S” inverted) in Side 1 and 58-XY-515 S2 (“S” inverted) in Side 2, with traditional yellow/black MGM Records labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!!

This single was originally released in 1958 and we had to wait until 1959 to see this record released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and for “Instrumental Accompaniment”, with time of each song. So, here you have the chance to get and own this single of Conway Twitty, pressed in Chile and almost never seen!!! In this copy, as you can see in the pictures, you can see in both labels an extra rim. You could think someone stickered a “plastic” in the label borders but that extra rim is clearly part of the label. I have never seen this extra rim in any other record. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This single doesn’t have a cover. The record is VG- or even VG condition both sides, it retains a big part of the gloss, it’s clean, but with many scuffs, hairlines and light scratches of all sizes and in all directions, with also 2 little breaks in the border of the vinyl, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in VG- or VG condition both sides, with moderate wear, some blemishes, writings, residues of a sticker in Side 2, faded in parts, with the extra rim hiding part of the text too but mostly readable. The sound is in strong VG or even VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a soft background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with light constant crackles and very occasional soft pops here and there, with some hiss, which of course don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a RARE PRESS with Spanish-written song titles, sure not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure with still a nice look and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 64 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean record!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP18 for weight until 0,5kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

GBP25 for weight 0,5-1kg (usually 2 to 5 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
