Let's take a moment to set the record straight with a little history lesson. ANY Thriller lp with a GRAMMY STICKER on it is a LATER ISSUE of this lp (up to a year and later from its original release). ONLY original issue absolute "TRUE FIRST" pressings came with the PAUL McCARTNEY sticker shown and were issued in November/December of 1982! THIS GIRL IS MINE was the first (RELEASED PRIOR TO THE LP) lead single release from the lp and ALL subsequent issues STARTING IN JAN/FEB of 1983 went on to have later and different stickers promoting his mega-hit singles from the lp, as shortly after release, when all his singles started to become hits, the STICKER was CHANGED to promote his big MTV hits. Then when the lp was nominated for the 1983/84 Grammys which was actually held in February of 1984, GRAMMY NOMINATED STICKERS were affixed and LATER after the awards GRAMMY WINNER STICKERS were affixed. So any lps you are buying out there with GRAMMY STICKERS are much MUCH later PRESSINGS (At one time over a million a week were being pressed) and are NOT! originals.

Go ahead and scan thru the 1000's of Thrillers on ebay or the internet and see how many you find with this first sticker? ONLY THE PAUL McCARTNEY STICKER SHOWN CAN BE FOUND ON FIRST PRESSINGS! To the best of my knowledge this was the only sticker to be found on any 1982 pressing. ALL subsequent releases from 1983 on have different stickers, came AFTER the McCartney sticker and are LATER PRESSINGS! Arguably far RARER than all the sealed grammy sticker copies on ebay combined and certainly more desirable than any other OPENED copy!

So what is being offered in this FIVE DAY AUCTION is a simply gorgeous minty ORIGINAL ISSUE FIRST PRESSING in the original shrink with the ultra-rare Paul McCartney "THIS GIRL IS MINE" sticker affixed to the shrink. One of the ONLY copies you are going to find ANYWHERE let alone in such SPECTACULAR condition! It includes the original lyric sleeve and a stunning disc with gorgeous labels. NO CUT OUT MARKS and NO PUNCH HOLES OR REMAINDER MARKS. Spend whatever amount of money you wish on as many Jackson records as you want........BUT buy anything other that a true first and you could likely regret your investment in the future.

GRADING: I try to give an accurate representation of the record with a numerical value. I infer that the records should play their visual grade. I have given a numerical grade to correspond to typical record grading for the approximate percentage of wear. For example, excellent/85 means the disc should have about 15% wear/marks from a NEW record. By looking at the photos you can find band info and song titles.

NEAR MINT = 92-99

EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT =89-91 (borderline near mint)

EXCELLENT = 82-88

VG+/EXCELLENT = 79-81 (borderline excellent)

VG+ = 72-78

VG/VG+ = 69-71 (borderline vg+)

VG =62-68

RECORD/ITEM FOR AUCTION:  Michael Jackson "THRILLER" Lp on the US Epic Records label. It is catalog #QE 36112 stereo. It is dated 1982. 

RECORD CONDITION/GRADE: The disc grades visually at near mint/97-98. The labels are near mint/99. The cover is near mint/98 in the original shrink with the lightest of wear to the shrink and corners, a light stress crease at top left corner as shown and factory sticker affixed. The lyric sleeve is excellent/near mint 90 with light handling wear and light splits.
