THIS IS A GENUINE ORIGINAL DOUBLE VINYL STEREO UK 1ST PRESS WITH A1/B1/A1/B1 MATRIX 11 STAMPERS WITH THE ORANGE MAT POLYDOR 1ST PRESS LABELS SILVER GATEFOLD SLEEVE AND NO SET NUMBER.

THIS RECORD IS INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND.  

The vinyl is visually in graded in very good condition. Please see below a description of grades and note that this vinyl is 48 years old that has been played and will not transform into anything different to the condition stated.

The Mat Polydor Orange 1st press labels are in excellent condition without any writing. Side C has the initials W.T.H. printed.

The SILVER gatefold sleeve is in very good condition with a sticker mark in the front that has been disguised (please see photo) edge and corner wear.

The spine is partially legible and split in the center with corner and edge wear. 

Within a short time from first release this LP took the progressive rock world by storm, exciting the record buying public ‘en masse’ and selling millions worldwide. Immense popularity and consistent demand earned it the distinction of being the first album ever to go platinum. It peaked at #3 in the UK album charts and #1 in the US but that only tells part of the story because in the 24 months following release it sold more copies than all vinyl sales in the preceding 24 years.

Visually-graded vinyl: A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and can help determine whether a record has been cared-for properly. A visual grading will not identify noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and fifty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect.

Mint                      
Cover - Looks new - no marks, wear or damage
Disc - Looks unplayed - no marks visible
 
Near Mint              
Cover - Looks virtually new with signs of handling- Minor wear creases but no marks or damage. Light sleeves may show slight discoloration due to age.
Disc - May have minor scuffs &/or hairline scratches caused by moving record in & out of paper sleeve
 
Excellent                
Cover - Slight signs of wear on edges/spine, corners or ring wear. No damage caused by sticker removal/residue.
Disc- The record has been played and has superficial marks &/or hairline scratches and paper scuffs.
 
Very good              
Cover - Moderate edge/spine or ring wear. Corners may be a little blunt. Opening edge may show feathering caused by removal of record. Visible creases or laminate lift. Localised sticker removal damage.
Disc - The record has been played frequently and has noticeable surface marks, occasional light scratches and paper scuffs. 
 
Good                      
Cover - Heavy ring or edge/spine wear. Corners noticeable bashed. Heavy creases. Considerable laminate/surface damage. 
Disc - The record looks very well played and the sound quality has probably deteriorated noticeably. A lot of surface marks/scratches. Usually used as collection filler

 I am not a dealer but an amateur collector selling duplicated items or records that I no longer want to keep (mostly due to space). I do not clean records (other than a dust with anti-static) and unless indicated in the listing the records have been only visually inspected.

Whilst I am happy to provide help and advice, all such claims remain the responsibility of and must be made by the buyer.

If the bidding exceeds £39, in the UK the item will be ONLY sent insured by special recorded next day guaranteed delivery post (insured up to a value of £500) at a cost of £8. The above P&P quoted is for UK only and the same principal on insurance will apply to international bidders who will need to pay £5.7 insurance in addition to the p&p.
