Description

An original 1st stereo press of the WHEELS the double LP on Polydor in STEREO. Matrix A2/B1/A1/B1. Labels are flat and not ridged like later copies.The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover stickered for stereo - these were clearly the 1st stereo copies. Printed by E J Day. One studio album and one live album.
Vinyl (Ex) & (Vg) [D1/D2] In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. This title is usually found in pretty average unimpressive condition. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side Disc 1. Disc 2 has seen more use - expect some fairly superficial markings. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback on DISC 1 [STUDIO]. That might not sound all that impressive. BUT - believe me - SO SO many copies are knackered a pretty clean playing copy of CREAM on this title is not such an easy find. It managed to stay clean into the lowkey spoken word 'Pressed Rat' - which most copies will struggle with. Politician rocks like no other - very impressive. Bad Sign - is totally badass...love it! If you wanna hear Clapton's licks in clean feed...take note of this copy. A few minor static crackles [and a couple of minor ticks] in the super fussy 'Passing Time' intro - perfectly acceptable and impossible to find fully clean. So, its clearly a copy someone's taken care of.  DISC 2 [LIVE] plays ok - but at a lower grading...nearer VG.  A bit of background noticeable here and there throughout. So, it's well down on Disc 1. Mostly lower in the mix. However, At times, in Spoonful it does become elevated - think of this track as subpar. Trainline & Toad play fine. Still more than acceptable and good to have the inclusion of the live tracks.
Cover (Vg+) One of those covers which is a right faff to even find in half decent condition. The foil surface always deteriorates - just a question of how badly! This one is in reasonable condition and shows wear and a few creases - but better than most. Interior looks great. Spine is 70% intact with text fully legible.
