Cream :  “Wheels Of Fire”    (ATCO SD 2-700)

First US pressing from 1968, with foil cover and gatefold.

Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker's landmark 2-LP release, featuring studio material on Disc 1 and live material on Disc 2. Arguably Cream's finest release, Disc 1 introduced the world to "White Room", "Politician" and "Those Were The Days" and touts a brilliant cover of the classic Albert King song "Born Under A Bad Sign".  The live renditions of Robert Johnson's "Crossroads" and Willie Dixon's "Spoonful" on Disc 2 are legendary.

Note:  This early collectible pressing mysteriously credits "John Group" as the author of the song "Traintime".  Later pressings corrected the citing to read "Jack Bruce".

Vinyl:  EX   (play graded)

High gloss on both discs.  Very clean wax, with only light superficial surface marks visible under bright light.

The wax plays just shy of near mint, with faint surface noise and occasional "pops" audible between songs and in a few quiet passages.  Overall superb sound quality on this well recorded album.

Labels are clean and bright, look like new.  

Trivial, very faint spindle marks visible under bright light.

Jacket:  EX

Original "foil" jacket in excellent condition, with bright B&W print and high sheen.  Modest ring wear front and back.

Inside gatefold is near mint, with one exception: the name "RE PERRY" is written in ink in small letters at the top of the right side of the gatefold.

Modest rub wear on corners of jacket.  Otherwise, both the top and bottom seams and the spine are in superb condition.  NO SPLITS.  Spine print is crystal clear.    

No price sticker.  No bar code.

You will be hard pressed to find a finer copy of this original classic Cream 2-LP set that is not sealed.  Hoping this one goes to a good home.
