Goodbye Cream: ATCO Promotional EP

ATCO EP 4534-stereo

1969 45 rpm 7" stereo disc, with original picture sleeve, by the original Rock 'supergroup', Cream, starring Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker. As the title suggests, this was the band's swan song, and ATCO wanted one last album (and singles) to sell. This disc was issued to radio stations on a highly limited basis to promote album sales for "Goodbye Cream". "Goodbye Cream" was a bit of a hodge-podge of new studio recordings and live performances, but it DID contain the amazing, "Badge", written by George Harrison, who also performed on the recording on rhythm guitar. This EP, interestingly enough,  contains all the studio recordings from "Goodbye Cream". Stereo 45 rpm singles from the 60's are a bit of a rarity in themselves as most radio stations of the day were still broadcasting in mono. (They did not become commonplace until the 1970's.)

Sleeve/cover for this EP shows some creasing and very slight wear.  No tears or splits. Front cover has the letter, "C" in black magic marker-a radio station marking of some kind. The reverse side has the exact same graphics, but has not been marked in any way. (Our scan below shows, from top to bottom: front of sleeve, back of sleeve, disc label.) Sleeve grade is Excellent.

Vinyl is clean with high gloss, showing only a few small light marks. We are dubious that this disc ever saw any actual radio airplay. Disc grades Near Mint.

Please note that this is a very rare Cream collectible-from our personal collection-which is rarely offered for sale. Copies without the original sleeve have sold for twice as much as our minimum bid.
