PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! an ADVANCED RELEASE PROMOTIONAL issued only in very limited quantity to select media outlets for purpose of review. Housed in and oversized custom designed folder cover with insert "CAMEL ~ MIRAGE" card that is held into slots on folder. Group biography overview pages, two real promo photos (no cheap xeroxes, but glossy Janus label issued originals AND a huge POSTER, all as seen in photo, completely unique ... never came across another copy like this in years... don't hold your breath for the next copy...gotta be mega-rare!

Camel's Mirage is such a beautifully constructed album. It's Flawless. From the opening sequences to its closing measures, just can't find any fault with this offering. Takes the listener through many dream-scapes and instills many different emotions. Each track has some amazing, catchy and likeable sequences. Makes the listener want to hear it many times over. The vocals are infrequent and the instrumental sections are elaborate.... "Mirage" is palpably progressive at every turn, shrouded in a magical mist that falls and rises with the needle. The sleepy vocals, carried on the winds of a magnificent mellotron and buttressed by the bass and drums, conjure a waking dream-state that few albums can match. This" Mirage" opens in the form of "Freefall," whose seductive siren's call simply smokes, followed by the instrumental "Supertwister", featuring Andy Latimer's heretofore unheard (and otherworldly) whirling flute playing. It's all leading up to the two-part "Nimrodel", a transcendent retelling of GANDALF's reappearance as the white wizard that remains a favorite journey in all of CAMELogue.
For this heroic feat alone, CAMEL could count itself minstrel-kissed through the ages. "Earthrise" shakes off some of that sleepy, far-off land with a sweaty workout that finds Pete Bardens' brilliant organ working overtime while Andy Ward attacks his kit with unrelenting energy. The three-part "Lady Fantasy" would seem to continue in this vein, but soon slides effortlessly into a mesmerizing melody spiced with keyboard commentary from Bardens that beats down The DOORS' hallowed path.
The entire album bespeaks what's best about the genre: a self-sustaining musical world where fantasy is the reality and the strings of man remain unseen. CAMEL provides a different ride than the great carriages of the immortals (YES, GENESIS), using softer strokes in lieu of striking genius, but "Mirage" is no mere illusion of prog heaven, it's the genuine article. So climb aboard and strap yourself in for a ride you won't soon forget.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: VG+ and better...the oversized custom folder cover, after 42 years could be in worse shape, it's very fragile. This copy has no tears or heavy wear per se except at the pocket opening some light handling creases. Pretty clean otherwise (see photo) ... the actual Camel Mirage cover has a promo cut at top right and light shelf rub, otherwise generally solid with bright colors. The large POSTER, both photos, and biography pages are MINT clean. Overall.......... VERY collection worthy, a mega-rarity ...
