(Ex-/Ex+) The copy has the earlier cover, unlaminated on the back (later copies were laminated all over and had the 'Electric Rock 2000' sticker) and therefore shows some inevitable wear. There is some edge wear, with evidence of creasing, and the top spine shows a 1" split in the centre (from where the vinyl would have knocked it). The front panel is pretty clean, with a couple of light creases to the lamination. The unlaminated back has a thin scratch across it, which has lifted the black ink. The vinyl, and this is the important part of course, is in wonderful shape. It retains a gloss, and to a casual glance it looks in near mint condition, apart from a scuff/surface scratch over the last inch of side 2 (this mark does not have any audible effect, by the way). I have, however, played a few sections of the LP and there is some light surface noise audible to a careful listen. There is evidence of a cast on the surface from old cleaning fluid, and it might well be that with professional cleaning the noise would be removed to make this near mint, but I couldn't guarantee it. The labels are clean. This copy is older than I am, and I wish I looked this good! (Please note that the scan shown here is not of the copy for sale as I cannot scan a whole cover. Can's first ‘monster’ release, this record is an absolute classic. However, it took several years for Can to gain wide recognition, and by that time this LP had been reissued by UA in England. These original German Liberty copies are like absolute gold dust, and are very seldom seen on the market. This copy is in amazing condition, which is even rarer as, let's face it, most original fans of Can were probably not too clear-headed when playing these records, and most of them have suffered a lot of wear over the years (the records, and probably the fans too!).

Even better, this copy was actually pressed from the plate cut for the original Music Factory release, of which only 500 copies were ever pressed, and on the very rare occasion they come up for sale, these copies go for thousands of pounds. The matrix numbers cut in to the run-out grooves are handwritten, and has the Music Factory catalogue number, 'SRS 001 A' / 'SRS 001 B', and then the Liberty number, '83 342-A' / '83 342-B', written after it. So you will be getting as close to that Holy Grail pressing as you can without spending a fortune.

This is a beautiful copy of an extrtemely rare pressing, and even harder to find in such lovely condition. I'm sure you will be delighted with this.
