This auction is for the still sealed fourth Canned Heat album titled "Hallelujah" pressed in stereo and released by Liberty Records (LST-7618) in the USA in 1969 featuring 11 hot rock blues tracks including Same All Over, Canned Heat, Sic'Em Pigs, Time Was, and Big Fat. The sealed gatefold sleeve record jacket is mint. The record jacket has no cuts, holes, splits, dings, rings, dents, bends, creases, tears, water stains or water damage of any kind, tape or tape marks, writing of any kind, and no bar code. A hard-driving blues band of the 1960s, Canned Heat was founded by blues historians and record collectors. They were on the right track and played all the right festivals (including Monterey and Woodstock, making it very prominently into the documentaries about both). Canned Heat's debut album, released shortly after their appearance at Monterey, was every bit as deep into the roots of the blues as any other combo of the time. Canned Heat's breakthrough moment occurred with the release of their second album, establishing them with hippie ballroom audiences as the "kings of the boogie." As a way of paying homage to the musician they got the idea from in the first place, they later collaborated on an album with John Lee Hooker that was one of the bluesman's most successful outings with a young combo backing him up. After two big chart hits with "Goin' Up the Country" and an explosive version of "Let's Work Together," they continued to produce blues hit on rock blues hit onward for several more years verging on direct political essay blues styles.
